God’s Purpose-Movie Spotlight
In the first two minutes of God’s Purpose we are drawn into the complex world of tv anchor Jeremy, played by Simeon Henderson. Jeremy is reluctant to leave his player days behind him and fully commit to his long-term girlfriend Ashley, played by Niya Davis. A summer jumpoff with Vanessa, played by Victoria Fox, threatens his relationship with Ashley, who is expecting Jeremy to propose. Jeremy is hoping to end things with Vanessa who is determined to be his main girl.
God’s Purpose Film Synopsis
The storyline of this film intrigued me because I have found myself in an unwanted love triangle. I was kept up nights trying to find the answers in my heart to two questions. They are, “Do I give this man another chance?” or “Do I move on?” Ashley also had to ask herself these questions. She loves Jeremy but he can’t seem to be loyal to one woman and she is tired of his games. It seems that he is the right man at the wrong time.
Walking away is never easy and Ashley does it with sadness until a new man comes into her life. Her new love isn’t new to her. It’s her old friend Sly, played by Keith Savage, who has always been a source of support for her. An aspiring singer and songwriter Sly is not only Ashley’s friend he is also Jeremy’s best friend. When Jeremy suspects something going on between his best friend and ex things really get heated.
Would you ever date your friends Ex?
Some people feel that a friend’s ex is off-limits while others would entertain the possibilities. True love is hard to find these days and people are looking in all types of places. I am not sure if I could travel that road but I have learned never to say never.
The second half of God’s Purpose tells the story of how this tangled relationship comes full circle. The ending was a surprise but looking over the whole film I could see how it ended that way.
